The Go Wellington Bus, along with Nick Tansley as the entertainment for the day, visited Hampton Hill School today. Wellington's Easy Listening Breeze and the Wellington City Mission are "Packing the Bus" for Christmas. Young Tilley Rugby Cup
On Thursday 28 October, Hampton Hill played Green Acres for the 'Young Tilley' Rugby Cup. Mr Tilley used to teach at our school. It was a fun game. We had trained hard for quite a while before the big game which was at Green Acres School.
The score was 73-15 to us.
A special thanks to Mr Barnao and Mr Surrich for making the game possible.

Road Patrol March
On Friday a group of our School Patrol went into Wellington for the annual march. This was the first time we have been involved in this. Lots of schools participate in this march from Parliament to the Old Town Hall.
It was a really windy day but at least the rain held off until after the entertainment that was put on for us at the end of the march.
A special thanks went out to the parents and teachers who help out each day at the crossing. You are awesome!

A special thanks to Mr Garside and Mrs Edmonds who have walked
over to the rehearsals at Tawa College every Wednesday with us. We couldn't have been involved in this music festival without your help!

Filming of Little Red Rocking Hood!
We have been busy filming 'Little Red Rocking Hood' and it hasn't been as easy as first thought. We've had a big learning curve with using a blue screen. Even "blue" and not "yellow" lighting is needed as well as a wrinkle-free screen.
We nearly had it right today but have discovered that you can't wear any shades of gray, purple, green, or pink with the blue screen unless you want an invisible body!!
Te Papa Visit
We had a trip into Te Papa today and got to see members of the NZSO perform for us. It was a fantastic time! We had already been on the "LEARNZ" field trip with the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra so knew what to expect, but nothing beats a live performance!

Violin and Viola
Mrs Brieseman brought her violin and viola along to school today. We all got a go at playing the viola and violin. The viola is heavier and bigger than the violin.
Now we know the difference between the violin and viola. And of course the viola is the best instrument in the whole wide world!

Zebong- Teller of Tales
Hampton Hill School
Review: Pratik

___________________
The storyteller, Zebong came to Hampton Hill School. It was a hilarious performance.
People were laughing all the way through his show. He got people up to act. Zebong told us lots of stories. He has got lots of actions and pulls funny faces. His voice is loud and full of expression. He is a professional story teller.
Date: 27 July 2010
Venue: Hampton Hill School
Review: Sydney-May

____________________
This storyteller involves everybody in everything. Anybody could be picked to play a part in one of Zebong's outrageous stories which were all about his strange family. Everyone laughed at least once throughout the hour. My favourite part was when Mr Stuart cut off everyone's head! It was really funny! Everyone seemed to love the show. Each story had a moral. Zebong, in my opinion, is the best storyteller ever! Children and adults of all ages will love this amazing story teller

Little Red Rocking Hood!
This term's Inquiry is all about Performing Arts. We're going to look at producing Jeff Leask's "Little Red Rocking Hood". While doing this we will have to do heaps of research into all that is needed to put on a production- auditioning, set design, costuming, advertising, directing, lighting and sound to name a few things! Today was our first reading of this Rock Opera and the creative juices are already flowing!

Presidents
As part of our Inquiry into 'What makes a Nation', we have created our own make-believe nations.
Each nation needed a president! See how Renee, Elikana, Jackson, Hashzyre, Josh, and Matt did with their campaign speeches.

One very foggy morning!- a mini inquiry
What we thought.......
1. Rob thinks it is just low cloud
2. Brydon thinks it is the water that rose to make the cloud come down.
3. Nathan thinks that it rained, then the sudden heat evaporates the water and made lots of misty moisture.
What we found out.....
Fog is warm water from the ground that evaporates and creates a low cloud.
